MY LABORATORY RESULTS

Your laboratory results will be made available to you 48 hours after the laboratory has completed the test and after obtaining authorisation from your Doctor. This process allows your Doctor time to evaluate your results and to communicate the results to you.
Results of laboratory tests performed more than 30 days ago will be made available to you without your Doctor’s authorisation.
Certain test results that require a Doctor’s interpretation and you to be physically present with your Doctor, will not be made available to you and can only be obtained via your Doctor. We will advise you if this is applicable to any of your lab results.
It is always advisable to discuss your results with your Doctor so that you understand why the tests were performed, what the results mean and what treatment is required.
There are 3 ways to obtain a copy of your laboratory results

From the Referring Doctor

It is preferable that you obtain your lab results directly from your doctor.

Electronically

Request your results electronically via the "Ampath Patient Results" App. In order to register for electronic results, we require your South African Identity Number. If you do not have an ID number please go to your closest Ampath depot (collection centre) to obtain copies of your results.
